Darla Rae Luedike, 79, of Winchester, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at her home in Winchester.
Darla was born on January 8, 1946, in Union City, Indiana. She was a 1964 graduate of Driver High School. Darla began her career as a telephone operator, working for General Bell for 15 years. She later retired from Jay County Hospital, where she served as a Hospital Credentialist, and she also worked for Ball Memorial Hospital.
Darla attended Chapelwood Baptist Church in Winchester. She enjoyed cross-stitch, reading, and taking pictures. She especially loved traveling with her husband, her close family members and friends. She also cherished the friendships and experiences shared through the Chapter T Trike Club. Her greatest joy was her family, and she rarely missed a grandchild’s sporting event.
Darla is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Peter Luedike; two sons, Peter Kurt Luedike II (wife Wendy) and Christopher Ryan Luedike (wife Shannon); and four grandchildren, Logan Ashley Luedike, Pierson Luedike, Cole Luedike, and Caleb Luedike.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Dortha Ralston, and her twin brother, Harold “Dick” Ralston.
A funeral service to celebrate Darla’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Walker Funeral Home, 248 E. South Street, Winchester. Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home.
