Cynthia (Harter) Acree

Cynthia (Harter) Acree, 68, of Muncie, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.  She was born on October 5, 1953, in Winchester, to Henry “Hank” and Frances Joan (Harvey) Harter.

Cynthia was a 1972 graduate of Winchester Community High School.  She was a 911 dispatcher for the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department for 30 years.  Cynthia enjoyed playing BINGO, Blitz and spending time with her grandchildren.

Cynthia is survived by her daughter, Amanda (Adlai) Chester; four granddaughters, Amelia Chester, Addison Chester, Avery Chester, and Abigail Chester; two grandsons, Asher Chester and Abram Chester; a brother, Jr. (Karen) Harter; and niece Kelbea Suttle.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Hyre; and nephew Kainan Harter.

A graveside service for Cynthia will be at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.

Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 4 at the home of her daughter, 7501 N. Landings Trail, Muncie, IN 47303.
