Connie Elaine (Snider) Meeks

Constance Elaine (Snider) Meeks, 87, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.  She was born on December 19, 1933, in Muncie to Leslie H. and Teresa F. Snider.  Connie was raised in Muncie, graduated from Burris High School in 1952, and moved to Winchester after marrying her husband of 34 years, Carl Meeks

Connie grew up a Catholic, but after marrying converted to Methodist.  She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Winchester, where she organized and helped with many bazaars and dinners.  She was a member of the choir, and sang in a quartette with some very special friends.   She had a beautiful soprano voice.   Connie also loved her horse, sewing, dancing, baking, and watching football.   But some of her greatest enjoyment came from art.   She attended IU East where she received honors for her drawings and paintings.  She also loved to write poetry.  

Connie is preceded in death by her late ex-husband, Carl; her parents; a brother; a sister; and a son, Steve.

Connie leaves behind her two daughters, Carla (Tim) Fouse and Cheryl (Kurt) Owens; grandchildren, Brandon (Lindsey) Byrum, Amanda Whitenack (fiancée Adam) and Shon (Vanessa) Byrum, Nick Meeks, Brook (Kayla) Owens, Kelly Owens, and Lee Owens.  She has numerous great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Connie’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, with Reverend Steve McCart officiating.  Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery.

Friends and family may call from 12-2 p.m., on Saturday, at the funeral home.  Memorials in Connie’s memory can be made to the Saratoga Church of God, 107 E. Main St., Saratoga, IN 47382
