Clayton C. Grow, 75, of Winchester, was called home on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Reid Health in Richmond. He was born on May 19, 1945, in Monmouth County Whales, Great Britain to Lloyd “Shorty” Grow and Glenys Mae (Jones) Grow.
Clayton was a 1964 graduate of Lee Driver High School. He retired after 38 years from Anchor Glass. Clayton served in the Air Force during Vietnam where he refueled bombers in Guam. He attended Wesley UMC in Union City and considered them family. He was a faithful fan of the Falcons, the Indiana Bulls and Huntington College. Clayton never met a stranger and enjoyed helping others.
Clayton is survived by his wife of 51 years Doris (Hahn) Grow; three sons, Anthony C. (Robin) Grow of Farmingville, NY, Shane Grow of New Castle, and Geoffrey (Nikki) Grow of Winchester; grandchildren, Jordan (Janaye) Grow of Winchester, Brandon Grow of Winchester, Ethan Grow of Farmingville, NY, and Molly Grow Farmingville, NY; great grandchildren, Zoe Nikkel Grow and Blake Alexander Grow; brother, Craig (Karla) Grow of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Glenda Claypoole of Richmond, and Gloria (Ralph) Hicks of Arizona; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Clayton is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Michael Grow and Geoffrey Grow.
A service to celebrate Clayton’s life will be at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday April 3, 2021, at Wesley UMC, 515 W. Oak Street, Union City, IN, with Pastor Geoff Grow officiating. Friends and family may call from 1-1:30 p.m., at the church.
