Christine (Hale) Hall

Christine Hall, 79, of Winchester passed away at 6:21 a.m., on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at the Reid Hospital in Richmond.  She was born on September 7, 1944 in Grundy, VA to Guy and Irena (Hess) Hale.

Christine was a quiet person but always put others first.  She made sure everyone had a birthday cake on their birthday no matter how old they were.  She also loved help people clean their houses.  Christine was the world’s best cook at making macaroni salad, lemon lush, and sweet potato casserole.  She worked at Jay Garment until they closed and then worked as cook at the Randolph County Jail until she retired at age 70.  But most of all, Christine loved collecting her Barbie dolls, having what could be described as a little girl’s dream. 

Christine is survived by her husband, Edward Hall; daughters, Jeanette Hamilton of Winchester and Connie Meinerding (Nolan Sexton) of Winchester; son, Bill Hamilton (Shama) of Albany; three step children, Eric Hall (Shannon) of Lynn, Clint Hall of Modoc, and Mindy Stewart of Portland; three siblings, Phyllis Tiller (Dennis) of Winchester, Shelby Atkins (Rick) of Olney, IL, and Verlin Hale of Union City, IN; She was blessed to be the grandmother of 17, great grandmother of 16, which has brought her much joy in her life; she also had plenty of loving nephews and nieces.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Susan Hamilton in 1982, Ira Hamilton in 2020, and Linda Whyde in 2021; as well as her brother, Earl Hale in 2021.

A service to celebrate Christine’s life will be at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Pastor Daniel Edward officiating.  Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.

Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Monday, at the funeral home.
