Charles “Tom” Simmons, 64, of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at his residence.
He was born on September 10, 1950 in Winchester to Delbert “Bud” Simmons and Doris (Martin) Orr. He was a graduate of Winchester Community High School and had attended Indiana University. He was a Union Laborer, working different jobs throughout the United States. He was a motorcycle and gun enthusiast. Tom was well known for being a loyal friend.
Survivors include his son, Duane (wife Janel) Simmons of Modoc; two grandsons, Chad Simmons (fiancée Cierra Edwards) and Nick Simmons, both of Winchester; two step granddaughters, Dallas (husband Seth) Shepherd of Richmond and Ashleigh Reece of Modoc; his mother, Doris Orr of Winchester; his father, Bud Simmons of Winchester; two sisters, Jill (husband Jeff) Straley of Winchester and Dana Davis of Edgewater, FL; two half-sisters, Cindy Simmons of Ohio and Debbie Senkio of California; two nieces, Jaime (husband Robert) Block and Crystal (husband Gordon) Hogg; and two nephews, Justin Straley and Brian (wife Heather) Davis.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Diane Simmons; maternal grandparents, Harry and Lillie Martin and paternal grandparents, Lester and Mary Simmons.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Pastor Jeff Straley officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Park Cemetery.
Friends and relatives may call from 1:30 -3:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
