Chad Matthew Sipe

Chad Matthew Sipe, 53, of Winchester, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on December 20, 2025. Born August 8, 1972, in Muncie, he was the son of Cheryl (Watson) Zell and the late Donald E. Sipe.

Chad was a good friend to many of his buddies, both young and old. Back in the day, he loved coon hunting, and more recently, going places with his life partner, Laura Gierhart. He was a huge animal lover and enjoyed going to pig shows, 4-H fair, and the Indiana State Fair. He was a 1991 graduate of Winchester Community High School and an employee of Carvantage in Winchester, for many years.

He is survived by his life partner, Laura Gierhart, his mother, Cheryl (Tom) Zell, his sister, Lisa (Dan) Waber, two step-sisters, Jane Zell and Kathie (Brett) Wright, nieces and nephews, Celia (Evan) Moss, Elliott Waber, Nick Wright, Jacob Wright, Joey Wright, Iris Smith, great-niece, Lillian Waber, and other loved family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Sipe, his Aunt Carla Watson, and his beloved grandparents, Norman and Alice Mae Watson, McClure and Pauline Sipe, and great-grandparents, Joseph R. and Lucille Greene, the latter for whom he was a caretaker for many years before her passing. 

Chad will be missed and forever remembered.

Family and Friends may gather and share at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, Friday, December 26, 2025 4:00-7:00. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
