Catherine A. Rogers, 76 of Farmland Indiana went to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior on January 11,2026. She passed away in the comfort of her own home after a short illness.
Cathie was born in Winchester Indiana, the daughter of Warren and Erma Baldwin (Yost) As a young girl she participated in Randolph County 4-H and spent time with her beloved gray tiger cat, Weirdo.
Cathie graduated from Winchester High School in 1967, with her lifelong friends Terri and Betty.
Cathie married and had two sons, Brett Erwin of Winchester (Theresa) and Bart Erwin of Lafayette (Jen). Later, she remarried and had a daughter, Kate Rogers of Farmland (Allen). Despite being a single mother, Cathie solely raised all her three children and did a fantastic job. Although very challenging, being both “Mom” and “Dad”, she always provided and was in the kid’s corner at a moment's notice. She was the epitome of a strong, educated, independent woman and a great role model for her daughter and grand daughters. She believed in and raised her children to follow simple Quaker beliefs; simplicity, peace, integrity, equality and community.
For over 35 years Cathie was a Licensed Practical Nurse in Randolph and Delaware Counties. She went the extra mile for each resident, showing respect, dignity, care and comfort. For many years, Cathie worked alongside her best friend Luanne. After retiring from nursing, she looked forward to lunch every month with the “Retired Nurses”, Luanne, Carolyn, Devida, Beth and Linda.
Cathie enjoyed working in her garden, sewing, crafting, designing and watching animal videos. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her 5 grandchildren: Brookelyn, Brayley, Bethany, Brenden and Shade. She was proud of them beyond measure and loved watching them excel.
Preceding Cathie in death are parents, Warren and Erma Baldwin and grandson Gabe Erwin. Surviving are her brother, Jolly, 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 2 cats.
Friends and Family may gather from 1pm-3pm on Friday January 16th at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester. A graveside burial will be held at 1:00 Wednesday January 21st at Bear Creek Cemetery.
