Candy K (Deniston) Cross

Candy K. Cross, 75, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Reid Health following a brief illness.  She was born on April 7, 1946, in Union City, Indiana to Frank and Kathryn (Midlam) Deniston.

On April 2, 1963, she married Winston Cross, Sr.  She worked for many years at the Randolph Nursing Home.  Candy loved word puzzles, watching Elvis and John Wayne movies, loved seeing her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.  Candy bowled for many years on a Women’s league at the Winchester Bowl.

Candy is survived by two sons, Junior (Kathy) Cross and Eric (Lori) Cross; four grandkids and 8 great grandkids, Levi (Lindsey) Cross, Olivia, Dana (Zach) Hall, Maggie and Archer, Damon (Sarah) Cross, Aiden, Lila and Bennett, Brandi (Brennen Brees) Cross, Braelynn and Brixton; and two sisters, Sara Van Skyock and Patsy Sheets.

Candy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Winston Sr; three sisters, Mary Cahill, Ann Consillio, and Evelyn Smith; and four brothers, James, Edward, John and Joe Deniston.

The family wishes to thank the Help at Home for all the love and care they have provided Candy throughout the years.

A service to celebrate Candy’s life will be at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at the Walker Funeral Home.  Private graveside services will be at the convenience of the family.

Friends and family may call from 5-7 p.m., on Wednesday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Candy’s memory may be made to the Journey Home, 325 S Oak St Ste #101, Winchester, IN 47394.
