Bob Hersberger, 88, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Reid Hospital. He was born in Madison County on September 10, 1933 to the late Harry and Clara (Fetty) Hersberger.
In the past, he attended Bear Creek Church for many years. He went to Ridgeville High School. In December of 1952, Bob married Lois Patrick. He was a farmer and dairy farmer until his retirement. Bob was also a member of the Bear Creek Cemetery board for 51 years. He also was a past member of Circle X Ranch as well as the Randolph and Delaware Conservation Club.
Bob enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, horses, and trapping. He spent time watching grandkids and great grandkids playing sports and showing horses.
Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Reed; his brothers, Harold and Howard Hersberger; granddaughter Amber Betram; great granddaughter, Gatlynn Hollowell; and nephews, Lee and Lin Hersberger, and Ritch Reed.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lois; daughters, Peggy Taft, Susie Hollowell, and Sally Hollowell; sister, Wanda Foust grandkids, Dodi Van Skyock, Kierston Blunk, Brandy Shannon, and Gabe Hollowell; and great grandkids, Kenna Kahlig, Kaegan Kahlig, Cash Hollowell, Kylie Shannon, and Kade Shannon.
A service to celebrate Bob’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Pastor Jonathan Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery.
Friends and family may call from 4-8 p.m., on Wednesday, July 20, at the funeral home.
