Betty Dillie, 81, died peacefully at her home in Winchester surrounded by family, on May 17, 2024. She was born May 9, 1943 in Byrdstown, TN to Coger and Ona Dennis.
She married William Howard Dillie on July 3, 1965. They were married for 50 years before his passing in 2015.
She worked at Anchor before becoming a homemaker. Betty loved quilting, gardening, game shows, traveling, cooking shows, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Chapelwood Baptist Church.
Betty is survived by daughters Lesia (Scott) Kinder, Theresa (Jay) Toney, six grandchildren Tyler Stephens, Ryan Gray (Megan Kilfoil), Troy (Katie) Gray, Alyssa (Jarred) Hankins, Courtney Stephens, and Andrew Toney, one great-grandson Carter Gray, three brothers Roy Dennis, Cleston (Dollie) Dennis, and Danny (Janet) Dennis, special nephew Kenny (Melinda) Dennis and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Polly Sells and Geraldine Dennis, brothers Carson and Floyd Dennis, son-in-law Bruce Gray, sister-in-law Violeta Dennis, brother-in-law Carlos Sells, and nephew Jimmy Sells.
Betty’s family is forever grateful for the donation of life through organ donation. In 2008 Betty had a liver and kidney transplant at Indiana University Hospital. This gift of life gave Betty 16 years with her family. In honor of Betty’s wonderful life, please consider being an organ donor.
A service to celebrate Betty’s life will be at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, with Brother Rick Cross officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, east of Farmland.
Friends and relatives may call from 12-3 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home.
