Barbara Catherine Crist

Barbara Catherine (Monroe) Crist passed away on June 25, 2026. She was born on January 2, 1929, in Winchester, Indiana. She was 97 years old at the time of her passing. Barbara is survived by her husband of 79 years, James L. Crist. They were married on September 23, 1946, and resided at Summers Point Adult Assisted Living in Winchester, Indiana. She had 3 children James (Danny) Crist of Columbus Indiana, Gary Crist of Mount Gilead, North Carolina and Jana Holmes of Elkhart, Indiana. She had 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. Barbara was a member of the Union St. Wesleyan Church in Winchester. As an active member she served others by teaching, instructing, volunteering, and helping others. She was a humble selfless, wife, mother, grandparent, sister, and friend to everyone that knew her. She will be missed. Walker Funeral Home will handle arrangements with Services to be held July 2, 2026, with a viewing 1 hour before the service at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery. The Reverend Randy Yaryan will officiate. Walker Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
