Ava Deloris Williams, 95, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Reid Hospital.
She was a feisty, funny, and giving lady. She loved to laugh. She was raised on a farm outside of Farmland attending Farmland School.
She was the daughter of Joe and Goldie Durham. She had 5 brothers and sisters who preceded her in passing, Joseph Cecil Durham, Dorothy Elliott, Charles Durham, Ruth Mullens, and Ivan Durham.
She worked in Florida at Patrick Air Force Base for many years. She was married to Major Marshall Williams. They moved to Wabash after her retirement.
At his passing, she moved to Winchester to be closer to family. Her nephew Brent got her a small dog who became her constant companion, she loved dearly.
Her health declined in later years. She had a special friend and caregiver Debbie Stevens. She brought so much sunshine in her life. Betty Locke also provided care for Ava in her later years.
She is survived by nieces, Judy Liss, Racheal Savage and Linda Sharp; and her adopted daughter, Kimberly Carrell.
A service to celebrate Ava’s life will be on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 1:00 p.m., at the Walker Funeral Home, with Pastor Tracy Brown officiating.
