Annabelle Franklin, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born on July 28, 1934, in Anderson Indiana, the fourth child out of eleven by Mary L. Harris and Franklin LeRoy Sayre Sr.
Annabelle attended school in Modoc and Anderson, Indiana. She married Harlin Franklin on July 29, 1955. Together, they built a life filled with love and raised three sons: Shawn C., Phillip A., and Chris D.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harlin Franklin, and sons Shawn and Phillip Franklin. Annabelle is survived by her son Chris Franklin; her grandchildren Amanda Bonvillian, Alex Franklin, and Devin Franklin; and her great-granddaughter Harlin Grace Bonvillian.
Annabelle comes from a large and loving family. She is remembered fondly by her many nieces and nephews- 41 in total, with three having preceded her in death. Her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, including the many extended family members from the Grow and Sayre families.
She will be missed and remembered not only for her warmth and kindness but also for her love for her family. She especially treasured time she spent with her loved ones-whether it was sitting around the table sharing stories or serving her famous pancakes, which were a family favorite. Her home was always filled with comfort, laughter, and love.
A memorial service will be held at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, Indiana on April 12, 2025, at 2 pm, with burial to follow at Lawndale Cemetary in Ridgeville, Indiana. Friends and family may call from 12 to 2 pm on Saturday.
