David (Dave) Arnold Phenis, Sr., 75 years old, born, January 2, 1946, passed peacefully Saturday, March 13, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Dave retired February 2011 from Anchor Glass as an upkeepman with 42 years of service, with an additional 10 years at Foster Forbes. He also drove a semi on and off for many years.
Dave is survived by his wife of 47 years, Delores Jean Stewart Phenis; daughter, Sandra Lea Bailey, husband Jared of Ridgeville, IN; daughter, Chakeala Jane Saylor, husband Oscar (Jr) of Lynn, IN; son, David Arnold Phenis, Jr., wife, Martina of Lynn, IN; daughter, Virginia (Jenny) Mae Phenis of Winchester, IN, and her boyfriend Keith Finchum of Muncie, IN; daughter, Tammy Melinda Lovell, husband Brian of Winchester, IN; and foster daughter, Susan Midora Lambert of Hamilton, OH; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Dave is also survived by 10 siblings, brother, Roscoe Phenis wife Stella of Lynn, IN; brother, Jerry Phenis wife Carolyn (deceased) of Winchester, IN; sister, Patsy Tipton, husband John (deceased) of Richmond, IN; sister, Marilyn Gambrel husband Acie of Lynn, IN; brother, Ronnie Phenis wife Lestra of Portland, IN; brother Terry Phenis wife Lori of Winchester, IN; brother, Danny Phenis, wife Diane of Winchester, IN; sister, Patricia Jones husband Don, of Lynn, IN; brother Eddie Phenis wife Amy of Lynn, IN; and sister, Roberta (Bertie) Phenis of Lynn, IN.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, Roscoe Eugene Phenis and his mother Addie May Roberts Phenis of Lynn, IN; 2 sisters, Geneva Phenis of Lynn, IN; and Donna Reed of Arkansas; 2 brothers, Larry Phenis of Winchester, IN; and Dewayne Phenis wife Barbie of Lynn, IN.
A memorial service for Dave will be at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Freedom Life Church in Winchester with Pastor Jeff Bullard officiating.
Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Any memorials can be made out to Freedom Life Church, St. Jude, Shriners, or St. Joseph’s Indian School
