Dorothy A. (Swoveland) Pierce, 69, of Winchester, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Pine Knoll Rehabilitation Center in Winchester.  She was born in June 7, 1949, in New Castle, IN, to Guy and Hazel (Wilkinson) Swoveland. 

Dorothy attended Union High School.  She was a homemaker.

Dorothy is survived by her mother, Hazel (Wilkinson) Swoveland; three sons, Ricky Pierce, Scott, Pierce, and Gary (Christina) Pierce; six grandchildren, Mersadies (Anthony) Cooper, Dylan Ansberry, Jonathon Pierce, Devon Pierce, Brooklynn Pierce, and Prudence Pierce; three great grandchildren, Riven Cooper, Aspen Cooper, and Viktor Cooper; two sisters, Bonnie (Sam) Cook and Merri Beth (Lee) Allen; a brother, Bob (Jeannette) Swoveland; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Guy Swoveland; her husband, John Pierce; and three brothers, Donnie Swoveland, Big Rick Swoveland, and David Swoveland.

A service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Brent Brumfield officiating.  Burial will follow at Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville.

Friends and family may call from 12-2 p.m., on Wednesday at the funeral home.
