Douglas C. Wicker from Winchester, Indiana passed away in Ruskin, Florida on November 28, 2018 at the age of 74.  He was born in Valparaiso, Indiana on October 3, 1944 to Edgil and Minnie (Griffith) Wicker. Doug married his high school sweetheart Rebecca Ann Morrow on May 26, 1963 in McArthur, Ohio.  They were blessed to have 55 years together.  He was a Customer Sales Rep. for Anchor Glass where he worked for 40 years. 

He loved all sports and loved playing golf with his friends (they had such crazy times together). Doug lived life to the fullest and was a diehard Cubs fan and got to see them win a World Series (for him this was a dream come true).   

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge, and Winchester Golf Club of Winchester, Indiana. 

He loved officiating football and basketball where he touched many lives.  He was honored to officiate the IHSAA Football State Finals in 1994.

 Left to cherish his life is his wife and his two daughters, Stephanie Ann Fruit (husband Jamie) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Melissa Lynn Mosier (husband Rick) of Winchester, Indiana. He had five beautiful grandchildren Zach Girton (wife Rikki) of Fishers, Indiana; Cory Fruit (wife Laci) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Katelin Fruit of Evergreen, Colorado, Kara Mosier of Winchester, Indiana. He also had five great grandchildren Darian, Lennon, Micah, Nolan, and Myles. Brothers Don and Harold Wicker, Sisters Linda Allen, Ann Olson and many nieces and nephews. 

Preceding him death are his parents, Edgil and Minnie Wicker, granddaughter Missy Girton, brothers Ray, Jim, Clarence (Bud) Wicker, sisters Annabelle Bollan, Martha Elston and Janet Schweigert. 

A service to celebrate Doug’s life will be at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday December 5, 2018 at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, Indiana. 

Friends and family may call on from 3-7 p.m., on Tuesday, December 4 at the funeral home

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Services of Randolph County, 133 N. Meridian St., Winchester, IN 47394 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
