This life’s journey ended for Paul Boyd Durham, on Wednesday, November 28, 2018.  He was released into the arms of Jesus surrounded by his loved ones.  Paul bravely battled a 2 month illness of kidney cancer.

Paul was born in Winchester, IN to Denver and Deloris (Grinstead) Durham on December 27, 1959.  He was a 1978 graduate of Winchester Community High School.  Paul worked his way through college raising hogs and being employed by Overmyer Mould.  He graduated from Ball State University.  He worked in insurance and farmed until moving to Cincinnati in 1998.  Paul was a salesman for Champion and became known as “Patio Paul”.  He retired in 2014.  Paul was an avid Cincinnati Red’s fan, a great host for an annual 4th of July party for many friends, family, and neighbors.  He and Lisa Jo enjoyed traveling and showing visitors the many sights of Cincinnati.  Paul was active in his church as an Elder, treasurer, sang in the choir, faithful worker in the church’s food pantry ministry especially enjoying the Sunday School study at Mt. Olivet.

Paul had a wide variety of friends and always made everyone feel comfortable with his unique humor and dry wit.  An extra special thank you is extended to his longtime friends, Jeff and Paula Mills who offered their home where Paul and Lisa spent his final days where family could love on him daily, what a gift!

Paul is survived by his parents; his wife of 14 years, Lisa Jo (Shumaker) Durham; three children, Jessica (Ryan) Liss, Brittany (Neil) Turner, and Brian Coffman; two grandchildren, Marshall and Kori Turner; a brother-in-law, Ronn (Trish) Shumaker; two sisters, Elaine (Martin) Wells and Deanna (Mark) Lake; a brother, Trent (Carla) Durham; and 5 nephews and 3 nieces.

A service to celebrate Paul’s life will be at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, December 3, 2018, at Jericho Friends Meeting, with Dr. Jerry Pitman of Lufkin, Texas officiating.  Burial will follow at the Jericho Cemetery.

Friends and family may call from 2-8 p.m., on Sunday, December 2 at Jericho.

Memorials can be given to Paul’s churches: Jericho Friends Meeting, 4010 East 100 South, Winchester, IN 47394 and Mt. Olivet United Presbyterian Church, 508 West State Street, Trenton, OH 45067, with envelopes available at the church.
