James R. Antras, 89, of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at the Dayton VA Medical Center, in Dayton, Ohio.  James was born on February 20, 1929, In Boone County, Kentucky, to Louie Antras and Lela Mary (Block) Jennings.

James served in the US Army during the Korean War.  He worked at Union City Mould in Union City.  James was a member of the Dunkirk Friends Church, and enjoyed woodworking and fishing. 

James is survived by his son, Scott (Melissa) Antras of Winchester; two daughters, Deb (Tim) Thomas of Noblesville, IN, and Jane (Tim) Virning of Sauk Rapids, MN; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and a brother, Frank “Ed” (Vickie) Antras of Versailles, IN;

James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Antras; a brother, Louie Antras, Jr.; and two sisters, Ann Goodpastor and Ida Antras.

A graveside service for James will be at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, October 15, 2018, at Woodlawn Cemetery with Pastor Daniel Edwards officiating.

I can remember back the best part of 50 years ago when I was a boy. On a hot summer day I would take my Dad a cold drink. He worked at the U.C. Mould Foundry in the Core room. My Dad (Leno Torres) and Jim were 2 guys that were always working there with the rest of the crew. Dad and Jim were friends. It saddens me to hear of Jims passing.
May his family find peace and may the Good Lord grant eternal rest unto him. Amen
