Richard L. Hyre, 84, of Winchester, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at the Randolph Nursing Home, in Winchester.  Richard was born in New Paris, OH, on January 15, 1934, to Floyd and Pauline (Dorgan) Hyre.

Richard was a graduate of McKinley High.  He was in the Army and served in the Korean War.  Richard was a salesman for Girton Auto Parts, was a former volunteer for the Winchester Fire Department, a reserve police officer for the Winchester Police Department, and drove school bus for Randolph Central Schools.  He was also a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Winchester. 

Richard is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Crouch) Hyre of Winchester; daughters, Bonnie Hart, Kathy Ward, Betsy Chastine, Ronda Due, and Lisa Owensby; son, Kevin (friend Tammy) Helton of Huntingburg, IN; daughters, Bonnie Hart, Kathy Ward, Betsy Chastine, Ronda Due, and Lisa Owensby; his sisters, Jane (John) Oler of Mary Esther FL and Mary Lou Baker of Warsaw, IN; his brother, David Hyre of Rochester, MI; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Richard was preceded in death by his, parents; a daughter, Konna Keister; his two sisters, Patty Mann and Ann Padgett; and his two brothers, John Hyre, and Charles Hyre.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the United Pentecostal Church, in Winchester, with Pastor Greg Pruett officiating. 

Friends and family may call from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the church.
