Craig A. Sherwood, 47, of Winchester, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Parker Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Parker City.

He was born on April 3, 1968 in Portland.  Craig was a 1986 graduate of Winchester Community High School.  He participated in cross country and held the record time for 3 consecutive years.  After high school, he coached the sport for two years.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in LaFollette, TN and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Craig enjoyed playing golf with his brother and friends and also fishing and bowling.

Survivors include his mother, Sharon (Cales) Uhrick; two sisters, Gina (Gary) Jones and Suzanne (B.J.) Bowman; a brother, Jeff (Debra) Uhrick; 13 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Herschel and Kathleen Cales.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Pastor B.J. Bowman officiating.  Burial will follow in Fountain Park Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Friends and relatives may call from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions can be made to the family in care of Walker Funeral Home.

Such sad news to hear of such a young man passing. My condolences to the family and friends of Craig. May you find peace and comfort in knowing Craig isn't suffering anymore.
