Carl W. “Bill” Smith, age 83, of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Randolph Nursing Home in Winchester. 

He was born on November 19, 1931 in Jay County to Wilbert E. and Mary J. (Smith) Smith.  He was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Randolph County and was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.  Bill retired from Warner-Gear in Muncie.  He enjoyed walking around town and riding his bicycle in the country. 

Survivors include two sisters, Phyllis Smith and Carolyn Farmer, both of Winchester; a niece, Regina Fold of Mesa, AZ ; a nephew, Dennis Farmer of Winchester; a great nephew, Carl Shaw of Mesa, AZ; two great great nieces, Katie and Emily Shaw of Mesa, AZ and a great great nephew, Wyatt Shaw of Mesa, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a great nephew, John Kidwell.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Pastor Jeff Bullard officiating.  Burial will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery in Williamsburg. 

Friends and relatives may call from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

I'm so sorry to hear about Bill's passing. Mom and I want you to know we are thinking of you and regret we cannot be there in person.
