James O. Carr, 85, of Dayton, Ohio and formerly of Muncie, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014 in Manor Care in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was born on May 15, 1929 in New Castle, Indiana to Edgar P. and Minnie (Clayborn) Carr.  He was a 1949 graduate of Center High School and had worked at American Airlines for 30 years as a Customer Service Agent at the Dayton International Airport.  He also retired from the Riverside Police Department, near Dayton, after 26 years of service.   James attended the Moraine City Baptist Church and was an avid motor racing fan, watching Indy, NASCAR and Sprint races.  He also enjoyed following the UD Flyers basketball team.  James loved to travel and never met a stranger.

Survivors include his wife, Priscilla J. (Klepfer) Carr of Dayton, Ohio; a daughter, Judy Ann (Don) Severs of Savannah, Georgia, two sons, Kent L. (Julie) Carr and Brad L. (Kathy) Carr, both of Indianapolis, Indiana; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Beatrice (Lyle) Blackburn of Plymouth, Indiana and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and step-mother, Ada (Hudson) Carr; 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fountain Park Cemetery Chapel.  Burial will follow in the cemetery.  There will be no calling hours.

Priscilla and family, we have fond memories of Jim through the years. He was a very likeable person. My dad, Russell, spoke well of Jim. We are sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Thinking of you during this time.

I would like to express how sorry to hear of Jim
passing. I always thought a lot of your family.
I remember how nice you all were to me, I was
teenager and sit for children. My name was Monica
Mason and lived in the trailer court on Valley Pk,
Dayton, Ohio. I still live in Dayton, am mother
and grandmother of one, my husband passed in 2006.
