Loretta M. Slick, 47, of Lynn, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013 at Reid Hospital in Richmond.  She was born on November 8, 1965 in Winchester to Walter and Azel (Nicholson) Creech.

She was a 1984 graduate of Randolph Southern High School and was currently working at St. Vincent Randolph Hospital as a Unit Secretary.  She had also previously worked at Reid Hospital. Loretta had been a beautician/barber in the Lynn area for many years.  She was very proud that she had just become a certified EMT.  She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Winchester, the Lynn Ladies Fire Auxiliary, the Randolph County YMCA, where she conducted CPR classes, and was one of the charter organizers of the Lynn Community Days festival.  Her wishes were to be a donor with her organs, to help others.

Loretta is survived by her husband of 18 years, Kevin Slick of Lynn; a son, Caleb Creech of Lynn; a daughter, Ciara Slick of Lynn; her mother, Azel Creech of Lynn; her father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Ada Slick of Union City, IN; and a brother, Chuck Creech of Bledsoe, KY.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Creech; and her grandparents, Kermit and Sally Creech and Claude and Vergie Nicholson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 514 W. Washington St., in Winchster with Father Christopher Roberts officiating.  Burial will follow in Quaker Lynn Cemetery, south of Lynn.

Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  A Liturgy Service will be conducted at 5 p.m. on Friday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a college fund for Ciara Slick at Main Source Bank.
