James E. Jenkins, 88, of Winchester, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021, at his home.  He was born on February 20, 1933, in Winchester, to Clarence and Nora (Henisa) Jenkins.

Jim was a graduate of Winchester High School.  After high school he joined the US Navy where he fought in the Korean War as a Hospital Corpsman.  Jim was a self-employed plumber and electrician.  He was a member of the Winchester American Legion, United Church of God in Dayton, Farmland Conservation Club.  He enjoyed hunting, farming, and the outdoors.

Jim is survived by his wife, Betty (McDavid) Jenkins; three children, Terry (Greg) Jenkins of Muncie, Becky Jenkins of Union City, IN, Erin (James) Causey of Union City; grandchildren, Erica (Tom) Held of Pennsylvania, Ashley Jenkins of Muncie, Anthony Jenkins of Union City, Emily (Richard) Hill of Winchester, Ashlyn (Trenton) Maloy of Ridgeville, and Michelle (Gary) Copley of Ridgeville; a great grandson, Nolan Elliot Hill and a grandson on the way; a brother, Larry (Roberta) Jenkins; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law Linda Jenkins and Nancy Jenkins.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Pat Helms; an infant son, Patrick Jenkins; six brothers, Bob, Max, Bill, Randy, Ronnie, and Harold Jenkins; and two sisters, Delores Baldwin and Jo Puccini.

A service to celebrate James’ life will be at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the Walker Funeral Home with Pastor David Hemsley officiating.  Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.

Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorials in Jim’s name can be made to Cancer Services of Randolph County, 133 N. Meridian St., Winchester, IN 47394.
