Winifred Wallace, was born in Parker City, IN on August 31, 1940 to the late Emerson Paul Hernly and Doris Ruth (Reece) Hernly. Winifred, known to many as Winnie, had many gifts and talents, as she enjoyed nature and art. She loved to paint scenic pictures of barns, birds and flowers. Winnie had a vast knowledge of plants and flowers, and spent many days gardening. She loved to craft and could be found sewing and making her beloved baskets. Her love of helping others gave her a meaningful career for many years with the Jay-Randolph Developmental Center, as a client supervisor.
Winnie leaves behind her beloved husband Jim Wallace, of Winchester, IN, of over 40 years, along with her children and step-children, Sheila Kaufman of New Haven, IN, Jennifer Mitchem of Winchester, IN, Jeffrey Holloway of Jasper, AL, Torrey Wallace of Winchester, IN, and Kim (Frank) Jenkins of London, OH; also through her 6 grandchildren, Sasha, Kyle, Brittany, Kursten, Drayton and Cody and 4 great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her 3 sisters, Pauline Moeller, Rhonda Baldwin, Sheryl Hernly and her 2 brothers, Philip (Patti) Hernly and Frank (Jude) Hernly, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Paul Hernly Jr. and granddaughter Justina Fox (Cross) Lee.
