Rev. Myron Stump Obituary

Rev. Myron Lynn Stump, 74, of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, just one day prior to his 75th birthday.  He was born on March 6, 1949, in Greenville, Ohio to Marvin and Maxine (Wombolt) Stump.  On July 22, 1967, Myron married the love of his life, Julie (Welch) Stump in Union City, Ohio.

Myron was a graduate of Mississinewa Valley High School.  He spent most of his life in Union City, but for the last 13 years, lived in Winchester.  For 20 years, he worked at Sheller Globe in Union City, and then became the volunteer children's minister as well as the facility manager for East Street Congregational Christian Church.  The love of his life was Jesus and his family and his ministry.  He and Julie, along with their daughter, Mindy, loved on children together.  Their Ministry of Kids’ Connection in which they traveled from church to church in the Midwest, including Florida and Virginia.  God used him to lead more than 33,000 children to Christ.    He was also a volunteer for the Union City Ohio Fire Department.  Myron enjoyed spending time with his family. 

Myron is survived by his wife, Julie (Welch) Stump of Winchester; his children, Mike and wife, Lurena Stump of Winchester, Christi Stump of Winchester, and Mindy and husband, Jeff Pfohl of Farmland; grandchildren, Logan and Alyiah Stump, Abby, Joey, and JJ Pfohl; brothers, Jeff and wife, Candy Stump of Ansonia, Ohio, and Billy and wife, Sharon Stump of Coldwater, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and his best friends, Pastor Keith Wooden, Steve Parks, pastor Marvin Cheek, Pastor Rob Butler, and Debbie Rush.

Myron was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Terry Stump; his parents-in-law, Roscoe and Mabel Welch; and more of his best friends, Bob Wolfarth and Steve Hendrickson.

A service to celebrate Myron’s life will be at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, March 11, 2024 at the East Street Congregational Christian Church, with Pastor Rob Butler officiating.  Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.

Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Monday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Myron’s name may be made to Reid Hospice, 1100 Reid Parkway, Richmond, IN 47374.
