Doris E. (McCollum) Foutz, 87, of Modoc, IN, peacefully went home to be with the Lord and her loved ones on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Willowbend Living Center of Muncie.

She was born on November 14, 1930, in Winchester, to Daniel and Mae (Durham) McCollum.  She graduated from Winchester High School with the class of 1948.  Doris Married John J. Foutz on July 19, 1952.  She was a proud member of the American Legion Farmland Post 353 Women’s Auxiliary, where her husband was a past Commander.

Doris and John retired to Florida where they lived for 25 years.  While in Florida, Doris’ favorite pastimes were oil painting (she was very talented) and spending time with family and friends, whether it was playing cards, going to the casino, or just laughing and having fun.  She was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband John; daughters, Vicki Hiatt of Muncie, and Teresa Hinshaw of Anderson; granddaughters, Shawna Richardson (Doug Marshall) of Muncie and Heather (Jason) O’Dell of Modoc; great grandchildren, Dylan and Daniel O’Dell, Baylee and Bella Richardson; sisters, Helen Alexander of Winchester and Joann (Gerald) Smithson of Farmland; brother, Jack (Jacki) McCollum of New Boston, IL; special nephew, Terry Foutz of Modoc, along with several other nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; 2 daughters and son-in-law, Renee Foutz and Sherry and Randy Harrell; granddaughter, Jody Harrell; great granddaughter, Julie Lynn Harrell all of Modoc; and 3 brothers and 5 sisters, Elmer, Richard, Charles, Zola, Virgie, Edith, Edna, and Jean, all of Winchester.

Special thanks to all the staff at Willowbend Living Center, Muncie, and the Hospice Group of Indianapolis, and Dr. David Cadogan for their loving care.

Funeral services for Doris will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018, at the Walker Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Hines officiating.  Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.

Friends and family may call from 12-2p.m.on Friday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38105.
